Kayla - Office Manager / Patient Care Coordinator
Kayla was born and raised in the Charlotte area and has lived here her entire life. She currently lives in Matthews/Union County. She has worked in dentistry for over three years, including time as a dental assistant. Kayla enjoys helping patients understand their dental health needs, easing their anxiety so they feel comfortable during their visits, and being able to explain different treatment options and creating a plan that meets their financial needs. She enjoys spending time with her family and boyfriend, and loves cooking and trying new and interesting recipes. Kayla and her boyfriend also enjoy traveling to Jamaica every year with her family for vacation.
Lydia - Patient Care Coordinator
Lydia was born and raised in Ohio. She has lived in Charlotte for the past 10 years. Lydia first began to work in the dental industry as a dental assistant. After awhile, she realized that helping patients understand their dental treatment needs and financial options was her passion. Lydia is fluent in Spanish, and enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, going to the movies and the park, and playing with her puppy, Lola.
Katelyn - Dental Hygienist
Katelyn was born in Charlotte and grew up in Weddington, NC. She graduated from York Technical College with her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. Her favorite part of being a dental hygienist is getting to know her patients, promoting their oral health, and teaching them the importance of oral hygiene. Katelyn’s goals for her career are to further her education by getting her Bachelors of Science, taking advantage of as many continuing education classes as possible, and volunteering her time to give back to the community by using her knowledge of dental health to help the less fortunate. She likes to spend free time with her two boys, Dominic and Xavier. She enjoys coaching their soccer teams, and generally staying active.
Kayla - Dental Hygienist
Kayla was born and raised in Union County. She graduated from Central Piedmont Community College with her associate's degree in dental hygiene. Her favorite part of her job is building personal and professional relationships with her patients, while encouraging good oral hygiene, and overcoming dental anxiety. Kayla strives to help others have a beautiful and healthy smile. She spends her free time with friends and family, traveling with her husband, and volunteering to give back to the community.
Sonya - Dental Assistant
Sonya has worked in the dentistry field for over 20 years. She is a graduate of the Bowman Grey School of Dentistry assisting program. Sonya regularly attends classes and seminars to further her education, and is working on her associate's degree in business. She enjoys working with patients to help them maintain good oral health and achieve their goals for a fantastic smile. As a patient care specialist, she is very dedicated to needs of each and every patient. When she's not at work, Sonya enjoys spending time with her husband and family. She thoroughly enjoys being with her three precious grandsons, Masyn, Maddax, and Dakota.
Leslie - Dental Assistant
Leslie is originally from Myrtle Beach, SC. She has been a dental assistant for the past twelve years and has a passion for cosmetic dentistry. She loves helping people be proud to show off their smile. She also enjoys making temporary crowns and seeing instant gratification in her patients.
Leslie and her wonderful husband, Michael are busy parents to their two children, Megan and Levi. In her spare time, she enjoys going to beach with her family.
Jean - Dental Assistant
Jean has been in the dental field for over 30 years and has experience with all aspects of dentistry including teaching assistants, lab work to a DMRT (dento mandibular rehabilitation therapist). She is married to her best friend, Frank for 25 years. She has four children the oldest is 19 and triplets that are 14.
Jean is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and currently live in Indian Land, SC. I enjoy Dental assisting and am constantly learning. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling to the beach and Las Vegas.
Channel- Dental Assistant
Channel was born and raised in Charlotte North Carolina. She recently graduated from the Dental Assistant Academy of Charlotte. Since graduation, she is thrilled to expand her dental knowledge here at Pleasant Plains Dental where everyone loves helping and making the community smile everyday. Channel has always had a passion for helping others and love building others confidence with their smiles. In her free time, she loves spending time with family and friends and just enjoying life to the best of my abilities.
